Habitat for Humanity Mississippi Capital Area is Volunteer Driven

There are several ways to put your Love in Action –
Our houses are built from the ground up with volunteers from our community, who are supervised by HFHMCA construction staff. Without volunteers, HFHMCA could not partner with low-income families to build and invest in affordable homes with a no-interest mortgage rate, so every volunteer counts. No experience is necessary, and individuals or groups are welcome to join the HFHMCA staff and future HFHMCA homeowners on Saturdays in building simple, decent homes…because everyone deserves a decent place to live.

To volunteer on our construction sites:

  • You must be 16 years or older. If you are ages 16 or 17, you will need to bring an underage waiver signed by your parent or guardian with you to the site.
  • You must wear closed-toe (preferably steel-toe) boots or shoes on site.
  • Please arrive 15 minutes before your shift begins in order to sign in and hear a brief safety meeting.

We can only build homes for families in need with the help of our Volunteers!

  • Volunteers keep construction costs low, enabling HFHMCA to sell homes at cost
  • Volunteers serve on the build site, in the office, and at special events
